It is my habit to read the news paper every morning. Imagine my surprise when I saw that James Dobson and his ilk are calling for NBC affiliates not to carry a new sitcom called “The Book of Daniel”.  Now I admit that I’ve only seen promos for the show which has an Episcopalian priest talking with a robed Christ.  Dumbson…ooops I meant Dobson seems to think the Christ figure is tolerant of sin since the Priest has an addiction to painkillers, has a gay son, a daughter who deals marijuana and wife who drinks too much…

Evidently in his haste to jump into the limelight, Dobson momentarily
forgot these words, "Then drew near unto him all the publicans and
sinners for to hear him. And the Pharisees and scribes murmured,
saying, this man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them."

If Jesus walked among us today I don’t think it would be on “K”,
Street, Pennsylvania Avenue or Wall Street. It would more likely be
Martin Luther King Boulevard, or he’d be hanging around folks that
Dobson and the two cowardly and hypocritical station managers in Terra
Haute or Little Rock would consider the wrong side of town.

Write or call your NBC affiliate and tell them to ignore these religious hypocrites. As for Dobson, if you are a believer pray for him he’s going to need it.

"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce
you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you
get. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not
notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your
brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log
in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye,
and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s
eye." (Matthew 7:1-5 RSV)
