WHAT: Support Groups and Education Programs are offered free to any one interested in learning about or dealing with serious mental illnesses.
 
WHO:  The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Pinellas County
 
WHEN: April 19, 2007, 7:30 p.m. Family Support Group and the 3rd Thursday of each month.  Education Program at 7:00 pm on the 1st Thursday of each month. Consumer Support Group every Monday at 6:30 p.m.
 
WHERE:  The Hospice, Bldg. 100, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760
 
WHY:  To educate the public about severe mental  illnesses; to encourage  individuals to seek treatment if they believe they have such a condition or think someone else is in need; to end the discrimination and stigma displayed by the health insurance industry, some businesses,  and individuals; and, to convince elected officials to legislate health insurance for treatment of mental illnesses equal to that available for  physical illnesses.
 
GOAL: Support, Education, and Advocacy for persons and issues relating to brain disorders (mental illness).

COLLEGE
CAMPUS:  The NAMI On Campus programs, in a college/university setting, are student-run, student-led to improve the lives of students who are directly or indirectly affected by mental illness; to increase the awareness and mental health services on campus; and to eliminate the stigma students with mental illness face.
