GOVERNOR'S COMMISSION ON LETHAL INJECTION IN TAMPA PDF  | Print |  E-mail
Following the botched execution of Angel Nieves Diaz on December 13, 2006, then-Governor Bush created The Governor's Commission on the Administration of Lethal Injection to investigate the Diaz execution and make recommendations for changes.
This investigation is the first time that Florida's Lethal Injection procedure has been officially reviewed by a panel in a public forum.

The Commission will hold its final meeting in Tampa on Monday, February 12. Testimony will include expert medical witnesses and the Medical Examiner who performed the autopsy on Angel Diaz. The meetings will begin at 10:00 AM at the Offices of the Florida Bar at the Tampa Airport Marriott, Office Level.  Those who attended last Monday’s meeting said that in addition to the importance of showing public concern about executions, the family of Angel Diaz who attended were grateful that Floridians were taking an interest in Diaz’s execution.  FMI: Mark Elliott, Director of Floridians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty at (727) 215-9646 or FMI on location: Florida Bar Association at (813) 879-5151.
